Spring into High Gear

Porsche's newest releases made their debut at last year's L.A. Auto Show in December, and there's a lot to be excited about. We will have all of the latest Porsche models in stock here at Porsche of Beachwood in March and be sure to come a visit us to celebrate all of the savings this month during the Spring Into High Gear sales event. Here is a little preview of what the 2018 718 Boxster and Cayman GTS have in store for us.

About GTS

Porsche first introduced the GTS trim level to the Boxster and Cayman in last year's models. Before that, it had only been used for the high-level performance cars, rather than the mid-engine road vehicles. However, it was such a hit with fans that the brand decided to continue offering these new trim levels. The GTS treatment delivers a suite of desirable options as standard features, including the Sport Chrono package, limited-slip differential, sports exhaust, torque vectoring and more.

2018 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS Performance

The diminutive Boxster has been a staple of the brand's lineup for decades, but don't be fooled by its small stature. The GTS model boasts an impressive 365 horsepower, up 15 hp from the standard model. The larger Cayman gets the same flat-four engine, delivering 317 pound-feet of torque with the optional seven-speed PDK transmission, versus 309 lb-ft for the standard six-speed manual transmission. Both the Boxster and Cayman GTS models can reach speeds of 60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds, besting the S models by about 10 percent. Both vehicles top out at 180 miles per hour.

Upgraded Exteriors, Interiors and New Tech

The GTS trim includes Porsche's Sport Design package, providing several updates to the exterior and interior of the vehicles. On the outside, black badging, black exhaust tips and tinted taillights give the vehicles a ferocious look. The interior, including the seats, armrests, center console and steering wheel, is composed primarily of Alcantara, a luxury material akin to suede. Finally, Porsche's Track Precision app records driving data so drivers can analyze their performance.
